A Very Interesting Run
So anyway sitting in BP on a new char waiting for a runner to get to DF. After numerous warriors failing on tip runs, only one even made it to snake dance and then failed.
About to give up hope I come across another guy offering a run for tips, so I invite myself, turns out to be a Me/W sitting here thinking to myself no way in hell this can be done. Anyway he tries twice and fails, by this point I don’t care I will either wait till the runner leaves or I get bored. We zone back to BP after about 5 minutes leave again and the Me/W hardly even loses health and is at no point in the run close to dieing and we make it all the way to DF.
Usually I don’t give big on tips runs but damn, I was too amazed not. After all those warriors that tried the run and died I get a Me/W that makes it with out hardly a starch. So throw off those cookie cutter warrior runner builds let the Mes take over. :P

This is known to be possible, I think. See, for example:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...45379485612278
It's still a bit on the gutsy side, but echoed Balanced Stance ftw!
EDIT: This video is not mine! I just found it searching for "Droknar's Forge" and "Mesmer" on Google. Please don't PM me about how to do this run. Thanks!

Thats an awesome video, takes a lot more skill to run DF with that build tho, and practice i'd imagine.

it was probably Avarre, she has done it. Hell shes done everything that can be done with her mesmer.
BTW: How do you die at snake dance... thats like easiest part of run.

I do believe Avarre started the thread. And even as a mesmer myself, I didn't believe it could be done until I saw it, lol.

There's a thread (can't remember which 1 and search is down) where an ele made the droksrun. Its was that thread that made Avarre decide to do the run with a mesmer. It's a nice thread with pics included. I'll try to find the thread and post the link as soon search works again.

Wow, this is really good stuff, I honestly thought with their weak armor, Mesmers and Elementalists couldnt do it :P
Could Monks do it then ?

Hi! I did the run recorded that video!. (I play in 1st person view all the time)
Couple of notes though:
-When I took the video, it was before the update that made illusion of haste cripple the player when ended prematurely. in the Camp rankor -> droks section, after the patch a new cover enchantment (e.g. channeling) is needed because of enchantment strippers there... But hey it's still possible, yesterday I ran 2 groups of people from beacons to droks successfully!
-From the video, I died because I got a big bad lag spike unfortunately
-After I got factions, my new droks running build is:
(Beacons -> rankor)
Illusion of haste
Expel hexes (elite)
Inspired hex
Practiced stance
Shields up
Healing signet
Balanced stance
Illusion of weakness
(rankor -> droks)
Replace inspired hex with channeling (to cover illusion of haste)
-The run still isn't easy at all. Very dependant on luck too...

Wasn't me, though I can make that run
There are several builds floating around probably more effective than the one I threw together (esp as it doesn't work now that IoH was changed I have to make a new one...), and I know Dark Luke is better at the mesmer run than I am
Very luck dependant on spawns etc... you can die in snake dance or in Lornar quite easily if you get KD locked, Tundra giants HURT if you cant move from them and there are many. Same with frost wurms if there are other mobs around.
